Our Environmental Policy

TreeCurran + Associates recognises that a greener workplace can mean a lighter ecological footprint, a healthier and more productive place to work and by adopting environmentally friendly policies and procedures that we can use every day, we can make a difference.

We believe that we have an important role to play in minimising our impact on the environment and have adopted the following procedures to ensure we fulfil this role:

  • Where possible, we walk to our appointments - or utilise public transport. Employees are also encouraged to use public transport in getting to and from work, rather than using their cars
  • We have invested in technological solutions that enable our employees to work from home - therefore reducing the carbon imprint of commuting and enabling our offices to downsize
  • When we have to travel by plane for work, we always take the additional option of purchasing offsets for carbon emissions
  • Computers, printers, fax machines and other electrical items are unplugged at the end of the day. Computers are also set to energy saving settings when not in use during the day. Curran + Associates also has switched to more energy efficient laptops, which use less electricity and generate less heat waste than standard desktop computers
  • The Curran + Associates offices take advantage of natural light, by having windows take up approximately 75% of the wall space, therefore reducing the need for electric lighting, and which also increases employee productivity and satisfaction. The lights we do use, we turn off when we leave the office every night
  • We 'think before we print' - only print what is necessary, trying to keep files on computers rather than in cabinets. When we do print, we print on recycled paper, on double sided pages and only use black and white ink. We now email all our invoices, rather than printing and posting them
  • We use refillable pens, rather than disposable ones
  • We provide filtered drinking water to reduce bottled water waste
  • Curran + Associates make it a policy to post employee manuals and similar materials online, rather than distribute print copies. They're easier to update that way too
  • We use reusable crockery, utensils, glasses and mugs to eliminate paper or plastic throwaways and encourage employees to bring lunch to work in reusable containers by providing kitchen facilities
  • When buying supplies for the office we use 'eco-friendly green bags', rather than plastic bags
  • We have several recycling bins around our offices so that recycling is just as easy as throwing paper away
  • Old office equipment including mobile phones and computers are properly recycled
  • We build environmental awareness through our staff by asking them to get involved with programs and causes that are important to them, and encourage any green habits practised at home to be introduced to the workplace
